Filters are critical components in internal combustion forklifts, designed to protect the engine
and hydraulic system from contaminants. Proper filtration reduces wear and tear, extends engine
life, and lowers operational costs.
1. Air Filter
The air filter is the first line of defense for the engine. It prevents abrasive dust, dirt, and other
airborne particles from entering the engine's combustion chambers. Clean air is essential for efficient
fuel burning and preventing premature engine wear.
2. Oil Filter
The oil filter continuously cleans the engine oil by trapping microscopic metallic particles, soot,
carbon, and other contaminants generated during engine operation. Clean oil is vital for lubricating,
cooling, and protecting engine components.
3. Fuel Filter
Fuel filters remove impurities from the fuel, such as rust, dirt, water, and microbial growth. They
protect the precise and sensitive fuel injection system (injectors, pumps) from damage and clogging.
4. Hydraulic Oil Filter
The hydraulic filter cleans the oil that powers the forklift's lifting, steering, and attachment functions.
It removes metal shavings, seal debris, and other contaminants that can damage the hydraulic pump,
control valves, and cylinders.
