Parts that need to be frequently replaced during hot summer weather

High temperatures in summer pose a challenge for forklifts.

The replacement and inspection frequency of certain components will be higher than usual.

Special attention should be paid to the aspects of cooling, oil, and tires. As follows:

1. Various "filters" and lubricating fluids: In summer, there is a lot of dust, and the air filter

is prone to clogging; under high temperatures, engine oil and hydraulic oil are prone to deteriorate.

It is recommended to shorten the replacement cycle and use summer-specific oil

(such as SAE 15W-40 engine oil). Also, pay attention to checking the coolant (antifreeze) level

and validity period, and do not wait until the engine overheats.

2. Fans, belts and radiators: Blockage of the radiator is the main cause of high temperatures.

Use compressed air or a low-pressure water gun to blow or clean the radiator in reverse, and check

for cracks or looseness in the fan belt.

3. Tires: High-temperature roads can cause tire pressure to rise and lead to tire blowouts.

It is recommended to lower the tire pressure by 5% - 10% according to summer standards and

frequently check for cracks and bulges.

4. Pallet forks and chains: Frequent operations in summer will accelerate wear.

If the root of the pallet fork is worn by more than 10% or has cracks, or if the chain stretches to

the limit or has cracks, they must be replaced immediately.

For internal combustion forklifts, the focus should be on thoroughly cleaning the oil stains and debris

on the engine and oil pipes to prevent risk of spontaneous combustion due to high temperatures.
