This year, Typhoon "Barvey" had strong winds and prolonged heavy rain, which could easily cause
the equipment in the factory area to be blown and slide, get flooded and soaked, have electrical control
systems damaged, and have vehicle bodies damaged by collisions.
To prevent your equipment from suffering large-scale repair losses, we have compiled a complete
set of protective precautions. Please arrange for the personnel in the factory area to implement these
measures as soon as possible to build a solid safety barrier.
Before the typhoon: Reinforce waterproofing
01. Properly park:
First, move all forklifts and stackers into the enclosed warehouse. If you have to park them outdoors,
please choose an open area on the factory grounds. Place the vehicles in the same direction to reduce
the impact from the wind. Do not park near walls, big trees, simple rain shelters, billboards, or areas prone
to water accumulation to prevent falling objects from hitting the vehicles and water damage.
02. Wind-resistant fixation, capable of withstanding strong gusts of wind:
All equipment forks are fully lowered, the mast is retracted, and the handbrake is tightened; triangular
blocks are placed on both front and rear wheels for two-way positioning. for internal combustion forklifts
weighing 10 tons or more, the counterweight is placed facing away from the windward side, and is fixed
by steel wire ropes and ground anchors to prevent the vehicle from being blown away by strong winds.
03. Comprehensive waterproof protection, ensuring no electrical control damage.
for Internal combustion forklifts tighten the fuel tank cover, install a rainproof cover on the exhaust pipe,
and fully close all the windows; remove the sunshade, warning lights, and rearview mirrors and store them
separately. Apply anti-rust oil to the mast chains and pinions to prevent rust and jamming in heavy rain.
During the typhoon period: Work stoppage control measures were implemented
01. When the wind speed reaches level 8 or above, suspend all outdoor forklift and transport vehicle
operations. Do not venture out for driving.
02. During the period of strong wind and heavy rain, do not go out alone to move vehicles or conduct
inspections. Be cautious of falling objects from heights and electric leakage caused by water accumulation.
03. Regularly check whether the vehicle has shifted, whether the tarpaulin is damaged, and whether the
ground is flooded. When the water level rises rapidly, only during brief periods of calm wind force, transfer
the equipment to higher ground.
After the typhoon: Conduct the inspection and resume work
01. There is water accumulation in the vehicle chassis, battery compartment, and electronic control box.
Do not directly power on. Raise the vehicle and let it stand to drain the water for at least 2 hours.
If the water level is half of the tire, it is recommended to contact the after-sales service for disassembly,
drying, and inspection.
02. Check if the battery is leaking and if the wiring connections are rusted. Electrical fault vehicles
should be temporarily not used.
03. For internal combustion forklifts, focus on checking if the air filter and engine are waterlogged. Water
entry is strictly prohibited for ignition and startup to avoid direct damage to the engine.
04. Step on the brakes repeatedly to drain the moisture. Test the braking effect. Check the hydraulic pipelines.
If water is present, replace the hydraulic oil.
05. Dry all water stains on the vehicle. Reapply anti-rust oil to the movable metal parts. After all lights, lifting,
and instrument functions are normal, the vehicle can be put into use.
Please ensure strict implementation and complete the protection work for equipment during the typhoon weather.
Make every effort to achieve the goal of zero equipment damage and zero safety accidents.
